Darpa Urban Challenge

The Darpa Urban Challenge is a contest involving a completely autonomous robot car that must drive a course containing live obstacles (other traffic). These cars can "see" (radar, cameras, etc.) and "think" (computers). No human interaction is allowed to help the car during the course. We attended the qualifying rounds on October 28th, 2007, at some apocalyptic semi-abandoned military base out in the High Desert of Southern California.
